SOMA Awakening Breathwork

1. Imagine: Create an Intention or Dream Scene

This first stage is where we brainstorm the plan for the intention/new imprint. Just as imprints from childhood are impressed upon us and can affect our psychology and behavior throughout our life, these new imprints can drive us in our behaviors and decisions we make moving forward. Therefore it is important that we make the desired outcome as real as possible. An intention or ‘statement of intent’ should be focused on a desired future state that is beneficial to the individual’s higher purpose and betterment. Yes it can be a material thing, a behavioral change, even a trauma release or letting go. A person can come up with an intention for themselves or a group can come up with a collective intention.

2. Ouroboros: Conscious Connected Breathing with Rhythm

The purpose of this phase is to generate and build a higher energetic/vibrational state with your intention in mind; To build your Level Of Vibrational Energy (L.O.V.E). You are not going to be able to manifest your desired outcome when your energy is low, you have self-doubt and lack confidence. We want to create a memorable imagined experience that embeds a strong imprint. We want to increase levels of serotonin and dopamine by prompting the feelings of love, joyfulness, gratitude, etc for embodying your manifestation. We want to build our confidence up to the point that we firmly believe we have all the resources we need to do this. This will become a subconscious anchor to motivate us in moving forward.

Remember this maxim: Emotion = Energy in motion

The rhythmical breathing phase hyper-oxygenates the body, bringing in more oxygen and blowing out more carbon dioxide than normal. This alters the pH of the blood stream and creates a stronger electromagnetic field and current to flow through the body. The effect of this is an elevation of your vibrational and emotional energy. Through a higher vibration and emotional quality, negative emotions can be released and cleansed from the body, and the ability to attract and manifest your intentions is increased. Your quality of thought is also linked to breath. Erratic breathing leads to erratic thinking. Smooth consistent breathing leads to coherent thought – this has been shown by studies from HeartMath Institute. This type of ‘diaphragmatic’ breathing also moves the largest lymph gland in the body, creating a powerful cleansing effect.

3. Death & Rebirth: Intermittent Hypoxic Training

Don’t worry! You won’t be be dying 🙂 The “Death & Rebirth” is symbolic. After supercharging your body with Breathwork, we then enter into the breath retention phases.

Just before the breath retention phase you extend your exhale with deep vocal toning. This allows you to tap into the power of the vagus nerve, switch off stress and connect with your subconscious mind during the breath retention phase.

Life is a series of inhales and exhales, and when you pause your breath you press pause on life. This pause and stillness connects us deeper to allow for meta-programming. From a physiological perspective we are activating our parasympathetic nervous system and engaging in intermittent hypoxia. Extending this out-breath as long as possible through a couple of short fast breaths (once again, ensuring you have no breath left and holding) enables you to remain longer receiving the benefits of intermittent hypoxia and for embedding the meta-programming.
